Congratulations to Betsy Sexton who was named McClure's Teacher of the Year for 2011-2012!

Dear Parent,
Attached you will find a copy of the State of Texas 2010-11 School Report Card for [name of school]. This is a report required by the Texas Legislature and prepared by the Texas Education Agency. It is to be sent to the parent or guardian of every child enrolled in the public schools. The report provides information concerning student performance as well as information concerning expenditures, average class size, and student/teacher ratios.
The information contained in the School Report Card is required by state law and is briefly described in the enclosed “2010-11 School Report Card Definitions.” The report for our school may or may not have all the information described, because the information presented depends on whether the school is an elementary, middle, or high school.
Congratulations to our McClure teachers, Ms. Sexton, Ms. Carter, and Mrs. Baird on being MEF Award Winners for 2011-2012. They wrote grants and will receive grant money to buy materials for McClure students. It was a early Christmas gift to the teachers and students!

Thanks to those at McClure and neighbors in our community, Avalon’s wreath fundraiser generated $800 for the Joplin School Tornado Relief fund!
Last week, we stopped in Joplin. We expected to have Avalon hand the check off to the administrator of this fund. Instead, they brought many of the school district administration staff out to meet with her and to thank her for her efforts. First she spoke to Kim Vann, the school district’s Director of Community Development(video). Then, Avalon presented the $800 check to Dr. Angie Besendorfer, the school district Assistant Superintendent.
